Crickets started cricketing way back in June. I associate crickets with quiet days toward the end of summer so I may have given up on summer before it even started. Now the sun is rising later and the night air is crispy and the water is getting too cold for swimming.
I didn’t go swimming.
My old dog “the Lady Abigail” is gone and I don’t know what to do with myself. Actually I do know but it is not so easy to live life without a dog companion. Life is too complicated right now. Lame to say that I know. I have a lot of interesting work to accomplish and cancer to not have and bike riding to do and trombone to play and…sleeping. We are also down to two chickens. One is eleven years old and was laying eggs until just recently. The cats are in full force doing cat things. I haven’t a clue what.
I need to work on my own second floor addition. I’m typing this under exposed Intello and walls stuffed with wood fiber batts from Timber HP loosely covered with Membrane. I NEED JUST A FEW WINDOWS in order to finish and get a move on exterior siding + roof trim and finishing the interior blueboard which comes before the 1x8 shiplap for the ceiling.
I also need a ventilation system. My throat does not like the wood fiber batts. The neighbor says he has an HRV that I can have with all the ducting. I’ll take a look at that.
I’m not allowed on ladders when nobody is around. I have been somewhat unsteady on my feet due to the nature of the medications.
The younger kid starts high school on Thursday and the older kid spent much of the summer at Pinewoods Dance Camp in Plymouth MA where I did a number of structures way back when and they are now diving into finishing up an associates degree locally.
I had initially intended to write another treatise on architecture but here I am all sidetracked and whatnot. I’ll get to it one of these days.
